The Poetry Whore’s Whore in NYC!

Good afternoon,

I am writing this from a very luxurious coach on the way from New York City to Chicago- massively taking advantage of the free wifi (although it is crazily slow!) Leaving NYC was upsetting, it is a world within a world, if I wasn’t utterly in love with London then NYC would be my haven. It holds an aura of glorious dirty arrogance, with a faint whiff of insecurity, making it a city you adore and wish would love you back. There is also a feeling that every individual believes that they hold greater characteristics than the next- even the homeless seem to hold the mind set that anything is possible (strangely enough). 

Filming every moment has opened my eyes to the subtlety of the human form, even the slightest hand explanation seems to leap up from the footage. Watching it back every night is a joy, whether I have been lucky capturing a moment on camera or everything has gone to plan, everything seems to be fitting together perfectly- let’s hope Chicago goes as well. Granted it hasn’t been all wide eyed and bushy tailed- one near break down of mine occurring late last night, resulting in frantic scribbling and muttering to drag myself out of the slump. After some fragmented sleep on the coach I feel much better, even taking the time to post after months of absence.

Overall I am throughly enjoying my time here, even with my professional head screwed on I am able to soak up all America and Tim has too offer. As for the American reaction, he has been received very well- an eccentric poet with an “adorable” accent, whats not to love? As a subject in its entirety, not only for a documentary but just observation, I can think of no-one better- he brings a smile to the hard face of arrogance and a happiness to the streets of New York. Hopefully, I can do him justice with my own work- which thankfully seems to be going in the right direction.
